Family HistoryThe Wuelzer family arrived in the United States on 31 Jan 1855 from Steinsfurt, Sinsheim, Baden, Germany (Southeast of Heidelberg). They sailed from Rotterdam to New York aboard the Arnold Boninger. On board were Ludwig (51) & Barbara (38) Wülzer and four of their six children - Adam (16), Heinrich (11), Catherina (9), and Frederika (7). The two oldest boys, Wilhelm (23) & Jacob (21) were already in the United States. The family settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. The family name was changed to from Wülzer to Wuelzer in the 1860s.
